O Impacto da Inteligência Emocional na Liderança Autêntica e no Sucesso Individual
Abstract
Purpose: Esta investigação tem como objetivo estudar o impacto da Inteligência Emocional (IE) na Liderança Autêntica (LA) que por sua vez pode ter impacto no Sucesso Individual (SI) através de diferentes variáveis mediadoras tais como: automotivação (AM), criatividade, superação no trabalho (ST), comprometimento organizacional (CO) e comportamento ético (CE) uma vez que um líder deve ser visto como um exemplo e tem influência nas pessoas com quem colabora e/ou está em contacto.
Design/Methology/Approach: Esta investigação insere-se no contexto organizacional e na forma como a IE pode ser usada promovendo uma LA eficaz chegando a gerar SI através do impacto que este pode ter nas atitudes. Foi efetuado um questionário a cerca de 367 pessoas que desenvolviam naquele momento uma atividade profissional. Para tal, propomos um modelo teórico testado através dos modelos de equações estruturais (SEM).
Findings: Esta investigação mostrou que há um impacto da IE na LA e nas variáveis mediadoras, à exceção do CE, reforçando os estudos presentes na literatura.
Practical implications: Através destas conclusões é possível fornecer um conjunto de orientações para que os indivíduos dêem mais ênfase à sua IE dado o impacto que ela pode ter de forma direta ou indireta na AM, na criatividade, na ST, no CO e na LA. Um líder com elevada IE terá provavelmente mais sucesso e uma maior vantagem competitiva comparativamente com outro líder que tenha uma IE menos evidente.
Originalidade/Value: A IE é um tema cada vez mais importante em ambientes organizacionais e as suas implicações continuam a ser estudadas. As contribuições deste paper passam pelo aprofundamento da relação entre IE e a LA, introduzindo o efeito de variáveis mediadoras cujas relações não têm sido testadas, como a ST, a AM e o CE, assim como o SI.
