Gestão hospitalar em contextos de crise: O caso do Hospital da Horta, E.P.E.R.
Abstract
Objetivo: o objetivo do presente estudo foi compreender o impacto da Covid-19 no funcionamento organizacional e nos colaboradores do Hospital da Horta, E.P.E.R. (HH), nos Açores. A pesquisa aborda o impacto das crises nas organizações e nas pessoas, com destaque para o stress, a gestão de pessoas em contextos de crise, e o teletrabalho.
Design/Método: os dados foram recolhidos no HH, mediante 10 entrevistas não diretivas, realizadas nos meses subsequentes ao início da pandemia, a vários profissionais de saúde. Foram criadas categorias que agrupam os dados recolhidos, e que permitem responder aos objetivos do trabalho.
Resultados: os resultados do estudo indicam que a pandemia teve um impacto importante no HH e nos colaboradores. Enquanto aqueles que se mantiveram em regime presencial reportam sobrecarga de trabalho e de horas de serviço, os em regime de teletrabalho mencionam os impactos do confinamento: ansiedade e medo de serem infetados, e dificuldade em equilibrar o trabalho com a família. Ao contrário do esperado, não se observaram níveis elevados de stress.
Limitações da investigação:
Implicações práticas: foram ainda identificadas algumas aprendizagens, relacionadas com o trabalho à distância e presencial no hospital. A instituição teve que adotar mudanças nas suas políticas e estratégias de GRH, nomeadamente no recrutamento, formação e avaliação de desempenho.
Originalidade/valor: a investigação foi realizada em ambiente real durante os meses iniciais da pandemia, permitindo clarificar em tempo real os impactos da pandemia sobre o funcionamento da organização e os seus profissionais de saúde.
