Title: "Assessing Leadership Styles in Lean Manufacturing Implementation Companies"

Abstract

Purpose: This article aims to evaluate the leadership styles at each hierarchical level, in order to support the process of lean implementation, proposing a method to systematize this assessment in each phase of implementation.

Methodology: The proposed method integrates aspects related to the situational leadership model in lean implementation, being applied in a large auto parts company that has been continuously implementing lean practices for 15 years.

Results: The results found allow the assessment of gaps in leadership behaviors in the organization and lead to improvements according to the maturity of the lean implementation.

Originality: The article presents a conceptual model of leadership styles favorable to the phases of lean implementation and integrates a method of assessing situational leadership in order to allow the verification of coherence between the styles of leaders and the demands of lean implementation.
